Guggenheim Museum Hosts 2024 YCC Party Presented by LG Display
One-night-only dance party featured designs by artist Rachel Rossin, DJ set by The Muses, and celebration of the 2024 LG Guggenheim Award Recipient, Shu Lea Cheang.
The 2024 Young Collectors Council (YCC) Party convened artists and patrons for an exclusive fundraising dance party at the Guggenheim Museum. This year, artist and programmer Rachel Rossin transformed the museum’s iconic rotunda into a visionary space where technology and art converged.
The event began with a seated dinner in the museum’s Wright Restaurant for the YCC cochairs, event cochairs, host committee members, presenting sponsor LG Display, artists, and other esteemed guests. Throughout the night, the museum welcomed hundreds of attendees from across the globe who enjoyed cocktails, DJ set by The Muses, and Rossin’s captivating works in LG Transparent OLED displays as well as the Guggenheim’s two current exhibitions, Going Dark: The Contemporary Figure at the Edge of Visibility and By Way Of: Material and Motion in the Guggenheim Collection.
In celebration of the 2024 LG Guggenheim Award, Naomi Beckwith, Deputy Director and Jennifer and David Stockman Chief Curator at the Guggenheim, Seol Park, Head of Brand Management, LG Corp, and Chris Jung, President and CEO, LG Electronics North America raised a glass to this year’s recipient, Shu Lea Cheang.
Guests included YCC cochairs Sophia Cohen, Danny Mapes, Alyssa Yoon, and Tiffany Zabludowicz, artists Anthony Akinbola, American Artist, Jordan Ann Craig, Jamian Juliano-Villani, Joiri Minaya, Sandra Mujinga, and Chloe Wise, as well as Emira D’Spain, Hannah Gottlieb-Graham, Alexander Hankin, Natalie Jackson, Serena Kerrigan, Dillon Lawson-Johnston, Sam Lawson-Johnston, Erin Lichy, Deidrea Miller, Lilah Ramzi, Paula Sanders, Andrew Warren, and Cecily Waud.
Funds raised from the evening will benefit the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the Young Collectors Council Art Fund, which supports emerging and established contemporary artists, and contributes directly to the museum’s permanent collection, groundbreaking exhibitions, and education initiatives.
