Project Healing Waters Celebrates New Partnership With Innovative Craft-Builder Boulder Boatworks

Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. (‘PHWFF’), a reputable national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a 19-year legacy, proudly celebrates its new partnership with Boulder Boatworks, a Colorado boatbuilding company and innovator in the space, blending time-honored woodworking techniques with modern mechanics that yield a drift boat that is nearly indestructible.

In addition to spearheading a guided fishing expedition for Project Healing Waters, a $30,000 customized seacraft for an upcoming sweepstakes is to be donated by Boulder Boatworks.

John ‘Saint’ Langford, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, stated that, “We celebrate our partnership with the Team at Boulder Boatworks. This is an organization that not only builds and sells lightweight, durable, and quiet boats for river fishing, entirely ‘Made In America’ and entirely built from clean-sheet, but one that has generously donated such a craft to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing and additionally has worked to help us host a sweepstakes for such a one of a kind fly fishing experience and boatcraft, in direct support of our cause.”

“The support of donors like Boulder Boatworks has allowed our organization to continue to scale truly nationally, and has enabled us to better serve our nation’s heroes, men and women whose return to civilian life often goes uncelebrated.”

Originating in 2005 as an initiative aiding wounded military personnel at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, particularly those returning from conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, Project Healing Waters has grown to establish its acclaimed program across Department of Defense (DOD) hospitals, Warrior Transition Units (WTU), Veterans Affairs medical centers, and clinics around the nation.

Founded by, owned and staffed by avid fly anglers, Boulder Boatworks leadership are passionate about exploring better ways to connect with the water; to take a time-honored tradition and transform it into something extraordinarily beautiful.

Shaun Hargrave, Commercial Director and Owner of Boulder Boatworks, stated that, “We started building boats about 23 years ago for customers in the State and across the country, with a particular appreciation for our Veterans. We see this donation as a way to thank our Veterans for their service and help enable them to embrace fly fishing, a sport and activity that we all know to be a driver of community and camaraderie for many Veterans not felt since their days in armed service.”

”I’ve worked closely with our nation’s Veterans, including those injured in combat, with many today suffering from their disabilities; the rehabilitative nature of fly fishing on our open waters in support of our Veterans is deeply important to me.”

”We ultimately get to operate a boat shop and our customers get to explore freely our nation’s majestic rivers and mountains - Those rights, our territorial integrity itself, would not be a reality, were it not for our Veterans putting themselves on the line. We don’t take that commitment lightly and so we are excited to be supporting Project Healing Waters,” Hargrave continued.
