AirAsia inaugurates Hari Raya fixed-fare flights with 100% load
AirAsia commenced its first late-night flight at fixed fares for the Hari Raya celebration to Miri, Sarawak with a 100 per cent load factor.
All guests on AirAsia flight AK 9644 were sent off with a special ceremony by YB Tuan Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia and Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2.
The special extra flights at fixed fares initiative was launched by the Minister on 4 March 2024, offering a total of 22,000 seats from Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru to 11 destinations in East Malaysia for RM298 to Sarawak and RM348 to Sabah all-in one way.
Minister of Transport Malaysia, YB Tuan Loke Siew Fook said: “We are pleased to facilitate affordable balik kampung fares for the rakyat with AirAsia’s fixed fare flights, launched last month. Thanks to their commitment, thousands of Malaysians including all 186 passengers tonight have been able to fly home affordably to Sarawak and Sabah. The government will continue to work hand-in-hand with industry players to improve the efficiency and affordability of our public transportation for Malaysians. We wish everyone safe travels this festive season.”
CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, Bo Lingam said: “We are thrilled to send off the first of our 122 special extra flights at fixed fares for the upcoming Hari Raya celebration tonight. As the people’s airline, this initiative is a testament to our commitment to ensuring affordable fares for our guests during this joyous occasion. The Hari Raya festive season is one of our busiest periods with more than 500 flights daily in operations across all our hubs and we will continue to work hard to fly our guests home safely. We thank our Allstars for their dedication, especially those who will be working during the festive period and our guests for flying with us. Selamat Hari Raya from all of us at AirAsia!”
Guests who are travelling this Hari Raya Aidilfitri period are highly encouraged to self check-in using the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly known as the airasia Superapp), which is available as early as 14 days before the departure date and use the e-Boarding Pass to board the flight. For an enhanced travel experience, guests are recommended to enroll their details for FACES on the AirAsia MOVE app to pass through pre-security and seamlessly board the flight without having to display their boarding pass and identification.
Due to the high passenger volume this upcoming festive season, guests are also advised to allow plenty of time and be at the airport at least two hours for domestic flights before the scheduled departure time. All guests are allowed to bring onboard a maximum of two cabin bags as part of your baggage allowance with a total weight of 7kg for both items and are suggested to ensure they have purchased sufficient baggage allowance in advance for the best value.
