Heidi Dellafera Eagleton’s First Children’s Chapter Book Takes You On Her Dog’s Journey Where She Learns To Fit In Without Losing Herself and What Makes Her Special - Now Set for Exhibit at LATFOB 2024
Heidi Eagleton has plenty of credentials along with quite a career in the architecture business. But in truth, her lifelong dream was always to become an author. So, after closing her own architecture and construction company, she finally managed to publish her first book back in 2021. This book, titled “So, You Think I Should Be A What? Maddie’s Tails,” is a neatly illustrated children’s story about ADHD and is now set to exhibit at the upcoming L.A. Times Festival of Books 2024.
“People’s differences are what makes them rock. Just ask Maddie!”
Like plenty of major publishing conventions, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is an opportunity for many independent and self-published authors to share their works, attract more readers, and spread ideas in their stories.
That’s certainly the case for Heidi Dellafera Eagleton, a published children’s book author who had come quite a long way to finally achieving her dream.
Eagleton has a background in law, architecture, construction, and real estate development. She also once headed her own construction and architecture company. Yet despite it all, she decided to close that company down to pursue her lifelong goal of publishing her own books.
In fact, few might expect that she’s the mind behind “So, You Think I Should Be A What? Maddie’s Tails,” which is a beautifully illustrated children’s book starring Maddie her sweet Spinone Italiano.
It’s the first book in Eagleton’s Maddie’s Tails series, and it teaches the important, age-old lesson about appreciating people for their differences. It follows Maddie as she tries to figure out what she actually wants to do in life despite being seemingly born to hunt.
Along the way, she takes part in dog shows, meets an assortment of other canine friends, and ultimately comes to realize that differences really rock!
Not only is the book’s message a great way to encourage diversity, but it also draws from Eagleton’s own experience, particularly when she was diagnosed with ADHD in her sixties. She looks forward to sharing more of her own life through Maddie’s eyes as she continues to work on the series.
Visitors to the upcoming Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2024 can find “So, You Think I Should Be A What? Maddie’s Tails” on display at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet exhibit at booth #225. The literary festival will take place on April 20-21, 2024, at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. Get the book on Amazon. Heidi now brings you the “Maddie’s Tails” series, a biography of the life of her dog, Maddie, a Spinone Italiano. Originally from Connecticut, today Heidi splits her time between Washington and California. When not living on the banks of Lake Union in Seattle with her husband, Kevin, and Maddie, she lives with them in Little Tuscany, a quaint neighborhood of mid-century modern houses, in Palm Springs.
